Your Privacy - Explained Simply
This page explains how Tutor Volt looks after your information. We have written it in a way that is easy to understand.

What information do we collect?
When you use Tutor Volt, we keep some information about you so the app can work properly. Here is what we collect:
- Your name and email - so your teacher can find you and you can log in.
- Your school and class - so you see the right lessons for your group.
- Your quiz scores and flashcard progress - so we can track how you are doing and help you improve.
- Your XP, badges, and streaks - to make learning fun and show your achievements.
- When you log in - to keep your account safe.
Why do we collect it?
We only collect your information for good reasons. Here is why:
- To make learning personal - we use your progress to show you lessons and flashcards that suit your level.
- To help your teachers help you - your teacher can see how the class is doing and where you might need extra support.
- To keep you safe - we watch for anything unusual to protect your account.
- To make Tutor Volt better - we look at how people use the app (without identifying anyone) so we can improve it.
We never use your information to show you adverts or sell it to anyone.
Who can see your information?
We are very careful about who gets to see your information:
- Your teachers - can see your learning progress and quiz scores to help you learn.
- Your parent or guardian - if your account is linked to a parent, they can see your progress too. You can turn this off in your privacy settings.
- School administrators - they help run Tutor Volt at your school.
- The Tutor Volt team - a small number of people who keep the app running and fix problems.
We never share your personal information with advertising companies or anyone who should not have it.
Your rights (what you can do)
The law gives you special rights over your information. Here is what you can do:
- See your data - you can ask us to show you everything we know about you.
- Download your data - you can download a copy of all your information from the Data & Privacy page in your settings.
- Fix mistakes - if any of your information is wrong, you can ask us to correct it.
- Delete your data - you (or your parent/guardian) can ask us to delete all your information.
- Control your privacy settings - you can choose whether to appear on leaderboards, share progress with parents, and more.
How do we keep your information safe?
- Your information is encrypted (scrambled into a secret code) when it travels over the internet and when it is stored.
- Only people who need to see your information are allowed to access it.
- We regularly check our systems to make sure everything is secure.
How to get help
If you have any questions or worries about your information, here is what you can do:
- Talk to your teacher - they can help you with most things.
- Ask your parent or guardian - they can contact us on your behalf.
- Contact your school's data protection officer - your school has someone responsible for looking after everyone's information.
