1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
Tutor Volt Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in accordance with the UK Government's Procurement Policy Note 06/21 (PPN 06/21) and the Climate Change Act 2008.
As a cloud-based educational technology company with no physical premises, company vehicles, or manufacturing operations, our carbon footprint is inherently minimal. We are committed to measuring, reporting, and continuously reducing our emissions from the date of incorporation.
2. Baseline Emissions Footprint
Tutor Volt Ltd was incorporated on 22 February 2026. Our baseline reporting year will be Financial Year 2026/27 (1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027). As the company has been trading for less than one month at the date of this plan, we have no historical emissions data to report.

3. Current Emissions Reporting
As the company has been incorporated for less than one month at the date of this Carbon Reduction Plan, no emissions data is yet available for reporting. Our first full emissions measurement will cover FY 2026/27 and will be reported in the updated Carbon Reduction Plan published no later than 30 June 2027.
We commit to measuring emissions using the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard methodology, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories.
4. Emissions Reduction Targets
Tutor Volt Ltd commits to the following emissions reduction targets:
- Measure and report our carbon footprint annually from FY 2026/27
- Maintain total annual emissions below 5 tCO2e through our inherently low-carbon cloud-first operating model
- Reduce emissions year-on-year where practicable, targeting a minimum 5% annual reduction in emissions intensity (per employee)
- Achieve and maintain Net Zero emissions by 2050 at the latest
- Review and update this Carbon Reduction Plan annually
5. Carbon Reduction Projects and Measures
The following environmental management measures are in place or planned to reduce our carbon footprint:
5.1 Cloud Infrastructure
- Select cloud hosting providers with published sustainability commitments and renewable energy targets (e.g., AWS Climate Pledge, Vercel green hosting)
- Optimise application code and infrastructure to minimise compute resource consumption
- Use serverless and edge computing to reduce always-on infrastructure
5.2 Remote-First Operations
- Operate as a fully remote company, eliminating office commuting emissions entirely
- Use video conferencing for all meetings, minimising business travel
5.3 Sustainable Procurement
- Consider environmental credentials when selecting suppliers and service providers
- Prioritise carbon-neutral or renewable-powered hosting and digital service providers
- Extend device lifecycle and purchase refurbished hardware where possible
5.4 Digital Efficiency
- Implement efficient AI model caching to avoid unnecessary computation and API calls
- Use static content generation where possible to reduce server-side processing
- Minimise data transfer through efficient application design and content delivery networks
6. Declaration and Sign-Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and the associated guidance, and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported using the GHG Reporting Protocol Corporate Standard and use the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body) of Tutor Volt Ltd.
